AML Policy
Last updated:
1. Purpose and Scope
PocketNode ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the global financial system from money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes. This Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy applies to all users of the PocketNode platform who access cryptocurrency features, investment instruments, referral earnings, or any other financial operations provided by PocketNode.
By using PocketNode's financial features, you agree to comply with this AML Policy and all applicable laws and regulations governing financial conduct in your jurisdiction.
2. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on the PocketNode platform:
- Structuring: breaking up transactions into smaller amounts specifically to avoid reporting thresholds or AML monitoring triggers.
- Illegal proceeds: using PocketNode to transfer, conceal, or invest funds derived from any criminal activity, including fraud, drug trafficking, corruption, or tax evasion.
- Fund mixing: deliberately commingling funds from multiple sources to obscure the origin, ownership, or destination of assets.
- False identity: registering or operating accounts using fabricated, stolen, or otherwise false identity information.
- Layering: conducting a series of transactions designed to distance funds from their illegal source.
- Sanctions evasion: attempting to use PocketNode to circumvent international sanctions imposed by the UN, EU, OFAC, or other regulatory bodies.
3. User Obligations
All PocketNode users are required to:
- Use only personal funds or funds for which you have legitimate legal authority.
- Provide accurate and truthful account information at registration and upon any subsequent update request.
- Declare the source of funds if requested by PocketNode during an AML review or verification process.
- Notify PocketNode immediately if you become aware of any suspicious activity on your account.
- Not allow third parties to use your account for financial operations without explicit written authorization.
4. Monitoring and Detection
PocketNode employs automated and manual monitoring systems to detect unusual or suspicious activity patterns, including but not limited to:
- Rapid, high-volume withdrawals inconsistent with a user's typical activity profile.
- Circular transactions: funds deposited and immediately withdrawn without meaningful platform usage.
- Abnormal referral payouts that suggest coordinated abuse or referral farming schemes.
- Multiple accounts registered from the same device, IP address, or identity.
- Transactions involving wallet addresses flagged by blockchain analytics as linked to illicit activity.
Monitoring is conducted continuously. Flagged activity may trigger a manual review by our compliance team.
5. Transaction Limits
PocketNode applies transaction limits as a preventive AML control measure:
- Unverified users (Tier 0): daily withdrawal limit of $500 equivalent in PNODE or other supported assets.
- Verified users (Tier 1+): higher limits apply upon successful completion of KYC verification as outlined in our KYC Policy.
Limits are subject to change and may be adjusted by PocketNode without prior notice as required by regulatory developments or risk assessments.
6. Suspicious Activity
If PocketNode identifies transactions or behavior that appear inconsistent with legitimate use, we may take the following actions:
- Temporarily pause or place a hold on the transaction pending review.
- Request additional documentation to verify the source of funds or the nature of the activity.
- File a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) or equivalent report with relevant financial intelligence authorities where required by law.
PocketNode will not be liable for any delays or restrictions resulting from a good-faith AML review.
7. Account Suspension
PocketNode reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently close any account that:
- Is under active AML investigation.
- Has been found to have violated this AML Policy or applicable law.
- Is associated with sanctioned individuals, entities, or jurisdictions.
Suspended accounts may have their funds frozen for the duration of the investigation. Users whose accounts are suspended due to AML concerns will be notified only to the extent permitted by law.
8. Cooperation with Authorities
PocketNode cooperates fully with law enforcement agencies, financial intelligence units, and regulatory authorities in accordance with applicable law. This includes providing transaction records, account information, and any other data required pursuant to a lawful order, subpoena, or regulatory request.
PocketNode will not obstruct, delay, or otherwise impede any lawful investigation.
9. No Tipping Off
Where an AML investigation is underway or a suspicious activity report has been filed, PocketNode is legally prohibited from disclosing this fact to the user under investigation ("tipping off"). Accordingly, PocketNode may not be able to explain the specific reason for a transaction hold, account restriction, or information request in all circumstances.
10. Policy Updates
PocketNode reviews and updates this AML Policy periodically to reflect changes in applicable law, regulatory guidance, and platform operations. Continued use of PocketNode's financial features following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
