KYC Policy
Last updated:
1. Purpose
PocketNode ("we", "us", "our") implements a Know Your Customer (KYC) framework to verify the identity of users, prevent fraud and identity theft, and comply with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. This policy describes the verification tiers available on the platform, the data we collect at each tier, and how that data is stored and protected.
By using PocketNode, you acknowledge and agree to this KYC Policy and understand that verification requirements may change as the platform evolves and regulatory obligations expand.
2. KYC Tiers
PocketNode operates a tiered verification model. Higher tiers unlock greater transaction limits and access to advanced platform features.
Tier 0 — Basic Access (currently active, no KYC required)
- Requirements: valid email address and phone number verification.
- Daily withdrawal limit: $500 equivalent in PNODE or other supported assets.
- Access: full access to node operation, referral system, and standard earnings features.
Tier 1 — Basic KYC (coming soon)
- Requirements: submission of a valid government-issued identity document (passport, national ID, or driver's license).
- Daily withdrawal limit: $5,000 equivalent.
- Access: expanded transaction limits and priority support.
Tier 2 — Enhanced KYC (coming soon)
- Requirements: government-issued ID document plus a real-time selfie and proof of residential address (utility bill, bank statement, or equivalent, dated within 90 days).
- Daily withdrawal limit: higher limits as specified at the time of feature launch.
- Access: all platform features including premium investment instruments.
Note: KYC verification beyond Tier 0 is not yet required for current platform operations. This policy is established in preparation for future regulatory compliance requirements.
3. Data Collected
Depending on your verification tier, PocketNode may collect the following categories of personal data:
- Personal identifiers: full legal name, date of birth, nationality, and country of residence.
- Identity document: document type, document number, issuing country, and expiry date.
- Document image: a scan or photograph of the front and/or back of the identity document.
- Biometric data (Tier 2): a live selfie or liveness check image for document-face matching.
- Proof of address (Tier 2): a recent utility bill, bank statement, or official government letter showing your name and residential address.
4. Data Storage and Security
All KYC data submitted to PocketNode is stored with strict security controls:
- Encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+).
- Access restricted to authorized compliance personnel only, with full audit logging.
- Data retained for a minimum of 5 years from the date of submission, in accordance with AML regulatory standards.
- KYC records are stored on secured servers in the EU and/or US, subject to GDPR and equivalent data protection regulations.
5. Third-Party Verification Providers
PocketNode may engage licensed third-party KYC verification providers to assist with document authentication, liveness detection, and sanctions screening. Any such provider is bound by contractual obligations to process your data solely for the purposes of verification and to maintain appropriate security standards. PocketNode remains responsible for ensuring that third-party providers comply with applicable data protection laws.
6. Rejection and Appeals
PocketNode reserves the right to reject a KYC submission for reasons including, but not limited to, document forgery, mismatched identity information, submission of expired documents, or association with sanctioned persons or jurisdictions.
Users whose KYC application has been rejected may appeal the decision within 30 days of notification by contacting us at [email protected] with supporting documentation. We will review appeals within 14 business days and communicate the outcome via email.
7. Deleting KYC Data
You may request deletion of your KYC data by contacting us at [email protected]. Deletion requests will be honored when:
- The data is no longer required to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, and
- No applicable law or regulation requires continued retention.
Where legal retention obligations apply (typically 5 years under AML law), PocketNode will restrict access to the data rather than delete it, and will delete it once the retention period expires.
8. Minors
PocketNode does not knowingly accept KYC submissions from individuals under 18 years of age. If we become aware that KYC data has been submitted by a minor, we will delete the submission and suspend the associated account pending review.
9. Policy Updates
This KYC Policy may be updated as regulatory requirements evolve or as PocketNode introduces new verification tiers. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
